Take a ferry ride to Manhattan for a Broadway show or a short ride to the many restaurants on the riverfront or enjoy the nightlife in nearby Hoboken. Go for a walk, a run or a bike ride in North Hudson Park, a 167-acre park less than a mile away. Enjoy the shopping in the nearby Secaucus outlet shops, a sporting event at the meadowlands sports complex or take a trip to Atlantic City for a night of entertainment and gaming.
Louis XVI once had a garden here, and it is said that the country’s first Lombardy poplar trees were introduced into his garden by Andre Michaux, the king’s official botanist. At the eastern end of the township is North Hudson Park, a 167-acre county park. Part of it lies on the Palisades, offering views of the Hudson River and New York City, and a scenic path goes down steps to the river valley. West of the boulevard the land is more rolling, and the park contains a lake, with fishing, boating, and skating. Other facilities include a children’s playground, athletic fields, picnic areas, tennis courts, volley ball courts and bike and hiking trails.
